Robert Eadie

Health Officer and Administrator of the Monroe County Health Department

Mr. Eadie has served as Health Officer and Administrator of the Monroe County Health Department since May of 2007. Prior to his role at the Monroe County Health Department, Robert was the Deputy Secretary at the Florida Department of Health from 2006-2007, the Deputy Director and Chief Operating Officer and Department Counsel for the Metro Public Health Department from 1981 to 2005, the Vice President of Coroon & Black Corp. (Willis, LLC) from 1975 to 1981, and a Metropolitan Attorney at the Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County, Tennessee Department of Law from 1972-1975.

Mr. Eadie is affiliated with the following organizations: President, Board of Directors of Sigsbee Charter School (2008-present); Member, Board of Directors of the Leadership Monroe County (2009-present); Member, Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Key West, Sunrise (2007-present); Treasurer and Member of Steering Committee of the SFREC Coalition (2009-present); Member, Board of Directors, Committee Chair for the Florida Association of County Health Officers (2007-present); Florida Public Health Association; American Society of Law, Medicine, and Ethics; Public Health Law Association; Public Health Law Network – Southeast Region (2010-present).

Mr. Eadie attended Vanderbilt University and earned his Doctorate of Jurisprudence in 1972. In 1965, he earned a B.A. of History from University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill as a Morehead Scholar. In 1965 he earned his diploma as Valedictorian and Class Medalist from Virginia Episcopal School. In 1997, he earned a certificate for Public Health Leadership from the University of Alabama, Birmingham. Mr. Eadie is married to Gayle Richardson Eadie and has 5 children and 6 grandchildren.
