Dr. Jennie Q. Lou
Professor of Biomedical Informatics, Public Health, and Internal Medicine, NOVA Southeastern University
Dr. Lou is the founding director of the Biomedical Informatics Program at Nova Southeastern University’s (NSU) College of Osteopathic Medicine (COM) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Lou has been a faculty member at NSU-COM since 1998 and has been teaching and conducting research projects in the areas of evidence-based practice, quantitative research methods, genetics, and public health informatics. Combining her trainings and experiences in medicine and medical science (e.g., neuroscience, genetics, epidemiology), Dr. Lou has been actively involved in applied and academic informatics. In 2006, she successfully established the Biomedical Informatics Program at NSU-COM. Her informatics research interests span the fields of clinical, educational, and clinical research informatics. Dr. Lou serves on editorial boards for many peer-reviewed journals and she and her colleagues have published many journal articles, books and book chapters.
