Doris J. Peek
Senior Vice President/Chief Information Officer for Broward Health
Ms. Peek joined Broward Health in 2006 as vice president/chief information officer where her main responsibilities include development of strategic direction and visioning for enterprise information management. Since her tenure, Ms. Peek has directed the implementation and adoption of the enterprise EMR. As a result of these efforts, Broward Health expects to claim Stage 1 meaningful use in 2012.
With more than 25 years experience in healthcare operations and consulting, Ms. Peek was formerly the regional vice president of information technology for Catholic Health East – serving both Holy Cross Health Ministries, Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Mercy Hospital, Miami, Florida. She also served as the Vice President of Information Technology for IntraCoastal Health System, which included St. Mary’s and Good Samaritan Hospitals in West Palm Beach, Florida. Prior to moving to Florida, Peek was the Vice President of Enterprise Project Management and Consulting Services for HBOC (now McKesson) and served as a Senior Manager with the healthcare consulting division of Ernst & Young, LLP.
Ms. Peek holds a bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Western Carolina University, a master’s degree in medical science from Emory University and is currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Phoenix. The doctoral degree will be Doctor of Organizational Management with a specialty in Information Technology Leadership.
